Telegram for Android, iOS and macOS, as well as the Unigram client, has been updated to version 9.0. Telegram Desktop was updated to version 4.2.
As Telegram itself says, "The previous Telegram update revolutionized the world of emoji: thanks to the new open platform, any user can create their own animated sets." The current update makes all user emoji available as reactions and emoji statuses.
Reactions
All users now have dozens of new reactions, including those that previously could only be sent with a Telegram Premium subscription.
The updated reactions selection menu can be expanded to make it easier to see the many new emoji.
The reactions you use most often are automatically moved to the top of the list.
Premium subscribers will now be able to use any of thousands of custom emoji as reactions.
Premium members can now send up to three reactions per message.
The updated reactions menu only works in personal chats and groups
Group administrators can choose whether custom sets are available as reactions in their community.
Emoji statuses
Telegram Premium subscribers can set an animated emoji status next to their name.
The status will show what kind of mood the user is in or what they are doing right now.
Choose from seven standard statuses that change color based on Telegram's theme, or select from an endless array of custom emoji.
To set a status, click your Premium icon above the list of chats or go to Settings.
If you want to enable the status for a specific period of time, tap and hold the selected emoji.
Signing in to your account
Users who frequently sign out of the Telegram app and log back in will now be able to receive authorization codes by email instead of texting them.
Alternatively, you can use the "Sign in with Apple" or “Sign in with Google”.
The registration and account sign-in process on iOS devices has been improved: users are greeted by an updated interface and smooth animations similar to the Android client.
New links to user profiles
A new unique link format is now available in Telegram - username.t.me.
The novelty is intended for those who want to emphasize the username (or prefer not to search for the symbol / on the keyboard).
Setting the order of downloads on Android
Users can now change the order of downloads in the download manager, raising or lowering their priority.
To do this, just press and hold the desired line, and then move it. The file at the beginning of the list is always downloaded first.
Previously, this function has already been implemented in the iOS app.
